Recitals

The Level 3 and 4 Piano Tots students are invited to participate in an open house/recital at the end of the fall & spring 14-week sessions. This is an opportunity for the children to share with family and friends what they have learned and to build confidence and self-esteem. For some children, playing in front of a large group of people is terrifying, and we will be discussing the feelings associated with performing and preparing for the experience. During the recital, children will play together and will also have the option to play a duet with Miss Lauren on the piano.

The recital is optional. The term “Open House” is used because the environment is very much like that of a regular Piano Tots class, but with a larger audience. In preparation for the performance, students learn about concert etiquette and about being a good listener when others are performing. The children practice moving to and from the piano and taking a bow after a performance.

Recitals are free and open to the public. Recital dates are announced during class and take place on a weekend or evening.
